Industry accolades roll in for offsite specialist M-AR

Specialist offsite contractor M-AR has recently been shortlisted for several industry awards for its outstanding work within the offsite sector in the last 12 months.

M-AR has been nominated in two categories — Social Housing Project of the Year and Health and Safety in the national Offsite Awards, the annual industry event which celebrates the very best of the UK offsite construction sector. The company is also in the running for a number of accolades at the Constructing Excellence in Yorkshire and Humber awards scheme, including SME of the Year.

It was the team’s work in partnership with Bromley Council at Bushell Way in London that impressed the Offsite Awards judging panel, earning M-AR a place on the Social Housing Project of the Year category shortlist. The project, which is now nearing completion, involved building 25 new apartments to address the shortage of housing in the borough — something which was made all the more challenging thanks to a very compact site surrounded on all sides by neighbouring homes. And M-AR’s current project with national homelessness charity Centrepoint, which is also in London, has also been shortlisted in the Health and Safety category, while its partner company, Lift and Locate, is up for Installer of the Year.

M-AR has also been shortlisted in the SME of the Year category at this year’s Constructing Excellence in Yorkshire and Humber (CEYH) awards — which are a celebration of everything the UK’s Built Environment has to be proud of. Its genuine people-centric approach to business — whether that’s looking after staff welfare, supporting local organisations and charitable initiatives, supporting its supply chain, clients and those who will ultimately call its buildings home — has helped drive an impressive period of growth for the company and secured M-AR place on the shortlist at the same time.

In Leeds, M-AR’s work on the city’s new Stourton Park and Ride site has also been recognised in this year’s CEYH Awards. M-AR delivered an innovative hybrid offsite solution — securing the project a place on the shortlist of the Modern Methods of Construction Award category. The impressive project has also been shortlisted in the Civil Engineering Project of the Year and in the ‘Public Sector Project’ category at this year’s national RICS UK Awards too.

These latest awards come hot on the heels of finance director, Victoria Greenfield being named as one of the Top 30 Under 30 in Hull and Humber and M-AR scooping the Business of the Year award at the Hull Live Business Awards at the end of 2021.
